we have a green iguana we have raised for the last 17 years. His name is George and he's a good guy. He is about 15 lbs and about 4 foot long. his cage is self made and sturdy (heavy too) but that is because it has 3 levels of it. On the top is where he likes to sit as his heat lights are on top of the cage. 2nd level is only about 3/4 long as it allows him to get up and down but this is where he eats. He loves collard greens, fresh ones is all they can have (they're only about $3 a bundle and you just tear them up in pieces, not too big or small but off the stem) and put them in a bowl and sometimes for a treat we might but a few slices of strawberries or blueberries in too.
The bottom is crazy. It has 2 long shallow Rubbermaid containers in it. We fill them about 1/2 full with mulch and he only goes to the bathroom in them. Yes, Our George is potty trained.
We have raised our children and retired from the military and want to take our RV and travel, but we can't leave George. He comes with everything including a book or 2 about him and caring for a green iguana.
