I am a 62 yo woman and live with my husband. Occasionally, my grand daughter comes to visit for a short while. Looking for a small companion dog 1 - 5 y.o.
I have a neutered long haired Chihuahua, Halle who is 12+ now. I am disabled, but not in a way that I can't care for my pets. Halle is getting on in years and introducing a new buddy (preferably female but would consider a male) seems the right thing to do. So I can bond with the new dog before losing Halle to old age. She can help with housing breaking and house rules. My animals sleep with me, I am home most of the time and have a decent size yard. She is on Science Diet and cooked chicken and rice once a week for a treat. I have been a vet tech for a friend years ago, so I am very animal savvy. I really do need the companionship and having a little dog allows me to meet their needs and exercise that eases my anxiety and depression. I am hoping to find a FREE dog as I am on disability and hubby does paint, but we are not well to do; but I DO have a credit card for pet care. Animals seem to come to me right away whether they are shy or aggressive, so I can definitely say I am a dog person; have had them all my life.
